Busy October

VJ Sepp is back in Seoul it seems.

My new band "Brokin Machin" is playing a gig this weekend at the Hard Rock Cafe Seoul.

In a couple of weeks I am VJing at Konkrete Jungle IV at Club Cargo in Hongdae, Seoul.
Looking forward to this.

HAFFTube Entry!

My film "Strong Desire" is entered in the Holland Animation Film Festival's Web Competition.

You would be doing me a favor by checking it out and voting on it and favoriting it for me. It's a good film too. Using ripped paper and some good writing and voice acting. Check it out!!!

... with a fringe on top!

I just uploaded one of my VJ mixes to the Melbourne Digital Fringe site, which is part of the larger Melbourne Fringe Festival. The animation is here. It just got "approved by the content moderator" so now it's live.

I was involved in the Digital Fringe a couple of years ago when, with Animation Club!!!, when we took the MPU, Mobile Projection Unit, a van with a projector on top that streamed to the internet. We took it around Melbourne projecting onto various buildings including Federation Square. Here is a video from that time.

I am looking forward to the Digital Fringe Festival this year but not pleased that I won't be in Melbourne and will have to miss it.

Edit: Another of my VJ mixes is now up on the site here. This one is about urban signage.

HiDefZoMo

I have been playing around with the animation sites that I subscribed to and I am really enjoying Mytoons. They let me post .swf files, interactive and non. I can also post there in High Def Wide Screen. Seen below is the most wasteful use of High Def. Although it is much better quality than on youtube. I have got heaps more hits at Mytoons than at Aniboom and am featured on two Mytoons "channels".

I also registered and uploaded some movies to the not yet opened 4mations.tv site. It seems to be a site for animations for the channel 4 tv station in Britain. Since their logo appears to be winged skulls with bunny rabbits hopping out I think they will appreciate my weird animations.

New Koi Fish VJ Animation

I joined a couple of new sites this weekend. Aniboom and Mytoons.

I am in the process of putting my newer better animations up. Some hopefully in High Def. Having a little trouble getting some of them up and finding them. For example I have a film up at Aniboom but can't find it or view it at all.

Anyway Mytoons will host interactive flash animations. I make some of these for my VJ set. They are controllable through Resolume, the VJ software that I use. They make my VJ sets unique as every time I use them the clips are different. I will try and post more of these but I have one up so far.

The Koi fish swims (follows) leisurely after the mouse arrow in the clip below. Try it out. The patterns on the Koi fish are real patterns from different varieties of Koi. I am sure a Koi otaku could name them all, I just think they look pretty sweet.

MyTube

Just been setting up a new YouTube channel for my stuff.
I had a lot of videos on the web but they were spread around different sites. They are all now on YouTube and all classified nicely. The address is www.youtube.com/VJSepp

Also set up a couple of play lists, one for my animations and one for my VJing.

VJ Sepp!

James Paul's Animation

The videos feature music by Adie, Vadim and SoftCorps.

Also while you are on YouTube check out the Animation Club!!! channel. They are running a monthly animation competition with all the entries being screened at Loop Bar in Melbourne. Click here for more info on the competition.

Coffee anyone?

I'm trying to be more creative lately and have been doing some work on a variety of projects, more details when I get more done on them.

One of the projects I did was to design a Be@rbrick for a competition run by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, here in Korea.

I think mine (Paisley Suited) was pretty cute and a clever way of incorporating their logo in a funny, summer design. I haven't heard the results of the competition yet but fingers crossed. It would be so neat to have my own Be@rbrick made. The first prize includes a lot of vouchers for Coffee Bean and I am sure I would spend more of them on the bears.

Also working on another logo for a different competition, I think I have more of a chance with that one which would also be very cool if I win. I will update all the people who read this blog when I get more information about that one. And should be VJing again very soon.
